Why have you chosen to complete an e-portfolio?I chose to do an e-portfolio as it could be very useful when applying for jobs, which is the stage I am at right now as a fourth year education student. It is also a great way to keep all of my resources in one place in a user friendly environment.
What professional uses does an e-portfolio have for you?For any job interviews, I could give the potential employers my website address, where they could easily access my portfolio. This way, they could look at the content and have actual evidence of my teaching resources and experiences. Also, if I get a permanent teaching job, an e-portfolio would be useful throughout my career. I could use it to post new resources, tests, lesson plans, etc. that could be used by other colleagues. An e-portfolio would be a great way to stay organized and to keep all my work in one place.
What content do you plan to include?I plan to include my resume, reference letters, internship report, unit plans, lesson plans, philosophy of education, areas of expertise, photos, and any other resources I have created throughout my four years in the College of Education.
What graphic design considerations have you taken into account for the look of your e-portfolio?I do not have a drawing or sketch, but I want to keep the design as simple as possible. I want people to be able to navigate around the page easily, and never feel like they are lost. I will be playing around with colors and graphics a lot in Dreamweaver to come up with a visually aesthetic website. I will try a number of things with graphic design until I am satisfied.
What concerns do you have about the process? How do you plan to address these concerns?I do not have too many concerns at the moment, just getting used to Dreamweaver. It seems like a fairly easy to use program, and I am excited to get started. If I have any problems with Dreamweaver I know people knowledgeable about the program that would definitely give me a helping hand.
